Wedding Planning!!

Just because I’m getting married does NOT mean I have to spend a fortune on a wedding. It can be beautiful, classy, elegant and still be less than $10,000. I am a firm believer of this.

Some ways my fiance and I are saving money on our wedding:

DRESS:

If you read my last post, then you know that I bought my wedding dress for $145 (plus shipping). Yes, I bought it online, which many of you may be afraid of. Yes, it was shipped rolled up and stuffed into a box. Yes, there were a few threads hanging off when it got here. BUT, it looks just like the pictures, it fits beautifully, and it was ONLY 145 DOLLARS!!!

Looking fabulous in the dress I bought online.

$145 for a lace overlay, satin underlay, tulle skirt, crinoline, and a bit of a train! SO WORTH IT.

For those of you who are willing to risk buying your dress online, I highly recommend DressilyMe (not to be confused with that God-forsaken scam site Dresslily).

RING(S):

My fiance and I saved a fortune on the engagement ring and wedding rings because his wonderful mother gave us his grandfather’s wedding ring, grandmother’s engagement ring, and great-grandmother’s wedding ring. We’ll have to spend a little bit of money to re-size the rings for me, but that’s nothing compared to the thousands of dollars people sometimes spend on rings.

  1. That dress… *swoons* It’s gorgeous! Proof that wedding dresses can be elegant, modest, and feminine all at once! I wish I hadn’t rushed to buy a dress because I ended up having to pay soo much to add sleeves and extra lace to cover up. Your dress is perfectly vintage and beautiful! Love!

  2. What a beautiful wedding dress!
    I’m also wearing my Grandmother’s ring as my engagement ring! It’s fun having something with such sentimental value and as a bonus it’s a great conversation piece 😉
    All the best!

  3. You know this already since you were in my wedding party but– CALL IN ALL THE FAVORS! If someone offers to help you out on the big day, don’t feel bad about taking them up on the offer. My wedding would never have happened if I hadn’t had my friends and family around me taking care of practically everything. It was cheaper that way and they were able to give me what I wanted most: an unforgettable wedding day. ❤ ❤ ❤
